The Predators pulled off a nail-biting shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in Nashville on Saturday night, consigning the reigning champions to a third straight defeat, according to reports by The Associated Press. Cal O’ Reilly was the sole scorer in the shootout as the Predators recorded their second successive victory, & Chicago Blackhawks came crashing down after, at one stage, holding a 3-2 lead over their opponents. The defeat coincided with a growing frustration amongst Blackhawks supporters regarding the team’s reversal in fortunes, as noted by TicketLuck.com’s Scott Briggs.
What is particularly conspicuous is the failure of big names to shine in big games. Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp & skipper Jonathan Teows all became household names with their exploits last year, but were reduced to mere bystanders in Nashville. While Coach Joel Quenneville will be thrilled with the scoring efforts of Jack Skille & Viktor Stalberg, he would have wanted his more illustrious players to put in a harder shift. Even the average hockey fan would much rather spend money on Chicago Blackhawks tickets to watch some breathtaking play from Teows & Kane than sit through another defeat, & the discontentment seems to be catching on fast. The Blackhawks have also lost the ability to close out games. Quenneville bemoaned their failure to establish a two-goal cushion for six straight games, & will be looking to his forwards to rectify that for the Chicago Blackhawks in San Jose. Mid-December also sees the Chicago Blackhawks in Detroit to challenge the Red Wings in what is already shaping up to be one crucial encounter.
About the Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago Blackhawks play in the Central Division of the NHL’s Western Conference. The 19,717-seater United Center hosts the Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago, & the arena is used to seeing capacity crowds lend their vociferous support to the team. Yet with a string of poor results, experts are keeping a close eye on the Chicago Blackhawks tickets market’s trends, & things don’t look too rosy for the champions.
