Overtime Wins and Mark Sanchez Keep Plays Alive for the New York Jets

Among the top news in the Washington Post was another consecutive overtime win by the New York Jets. They defeated the Cleveland Browns 26-20 last Sunday and this feat made the Jets the first team in the league’s history to earn a victory in an overtime road game. Talking to the press, the coach Rex Ryan said, “People are calling us lucky, but I’d say that it’s sheer determination by my players. Mark Sanchez was great out there and he kept going despite being injured.” He further stated, “We capitalized on the opportunities that came our way”.

Mark Sanchez’ teammates are all praise for his extraordinary, last 16 seconds touchdown. Right tackle Damien Woody said, “When Mark gets going we all call him “Mad Minute”. He scrambles and zigzags and suddenly everyone’s fired up.”

The wide receiver Santonio Holmes said, “The way Mark was playing, he rekindled the team’s spirit. He was fighting despite an injury and that motivated the rest of us as well.”

New York Jets are confident of making it to the playoffs but still have a few tough games to play. According to the schedule posted on their official website, the away games will take New York Jets to Foxborough and another will feature New York Jets in Cleveland. New York Jets in Pittsburgh will mark another away game. New York Jets East Rutherford, New Meadowland Stadium will also host several home games.
