Standard Chartered Bank has always believed into providing the best service to its customers. Keeping with the same commitment, the bank aims at building a sustainable business as a bank, simultaneously creating value for its shareholders, supporting its customers and contributing to the environment in which they live and work.

The bank has installed 10 units of  DRI Energy Recovery Ventilators modeled ERV-500 and ERV-1000. They help to maintain Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) requirements and recover energy from exhaust air, resulting in considerable reduction in installed tonnage and utility bills. They also assist in enhancing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), maintaining desired temperature and humidity and increasing productivity.

Energy recovery ventilators (ERV) have become increasingly important in light of the current drive to conserve energy, make buildings ‘green’ and enhance indoor air quality (IAQ) for occupants. Conditions such as sick building syndrome (SBS) have become worryingly common due to structural changes in buildings that affect the quality of air circulating inside. Energy waste constitutes another serious consequence, and end users are not only aware of this issue but also take an active interest in reducing building energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as add building value in terms of savings and beneficial impact on occupants.

The quality of Indoor air has a great impact on the well being and hence the efficiency of staff. The plush office complexes, Bnaks, BPOs, call centres and IT Parks are all closed type with no space or very little space for fresh air to enter inside.

Moreover, in such conditioned offices, there is re-circulation of stale air which is concentrated with pollutants like carbondioxide, mold, bacteria, viruses and chemicals emitted from modern day machines like computers, photocopiers, scanners, etc.

Poor indoor air quality leads to an increased incidence of health related symptoms, which in turn can lead to an increase in absenteeism and a loss of productivity.

DRI Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) are equipped with EcoFresh Heat Recovery Wheels; capable of recovering both sensible and latent energy from the stale exhaust air and transferring it to the fresh outside air. They improve the IAQ without increasing the air conditioning tonnage, thus saves capital and operating costs considerably. These ventilators are best suited due to their High energy transfer efficiency (both sensible and latent), economical first cost, low operating costs and low maintenance.
