Turkish Airlines, which is Europe's 4th largest airline carrier, is quickly moving into the position of becoming an airline industry leader. The airlines flies to locations around the round like Asia, Europe, North America, South America and is making plans to provide service in certain locations of Africa. This company is approaching 80 years of flying business. Its story contains plenty of ups and downs. However, the one thing that is very amazing, especially for a global airline, is the fact that not only are they still viable, but they are even more stronger today than ever.

In October 2010, Turkish Airlines announced to the world that it planned on expanding more during 2011. Quite naturally, for an airline that is growing extremely fast, this is sensational news. The Turkish Ministry of Transport released information that Turkish Airlines will fly to eleven new locations this year. There will be four weekly flights to Shiraz, Iran beginning in mid-March. Starting in the middle of March, Turkish Airlines will fly to Los Angeles, CA four times a week. This is wonderful news for the west coast of the United States. Other countries include China, Greece, Spain, France and 3 spots in Italy. Negotiations between the English soccer team, Manchester United, and Turkish Airlines were finalized in October 2010 which resulted in a three-year contract. Turkish Airlines will be producing a TV commercial that is quite high-tech in which it will show its new concept for business travel and it will feature Manchester United. This is an exciting time for both organizations for many reasons. The concept of the adverts is to have some of the team's most reputable players enjoying their business class experience with Turkish Airlines.

Switching to better classes as frequently as possible is the ultimate objective of the rewards program offered by Turkish Airlines. This, of course, also translates into extensive benefits for their customers. All Miles & Smiles members can upgrade their tickets from Economy, Business or Comfort Classes. The upgrades can be applied to Comfort Class, Business Class or First Class. The price paid for each upgrade is the correct number of miles earned from the rewards program. Turkish Airlines has a long history that was marked by many difficulties in the earlier years. It isn't surprising because airlines face many problems that need to be dealt with. All areas of this airline have undergone significant changes, from the bottom to the top. The result is a strong and adaptable company that has learned from past mistakes. The changes and development taking place at Turkish Airlines are quite exciting and this article has only provided a small glimpse of them.
