Following the launch of a new travel website travellers can now search and compare a range of accommodation in the Galapagos islands and then book a hotel online.

Quito, Ecuador, April 05, 2011 -- "The launch of www.galapagos-tours.travel has made it just that much easier for independent travellers planning a trip to the Galapagos islands to search for and book a hotel online. The new website offers a range of carefully selected hotels located on the islands of Santa Cruz, San Cristobal and Isabela" said customer experience manager Jessica Saltos. Hotels on the site are categorized as budget, mid-range or top end and each listing includes extensive information on the property, it's owners and how many are caring for the destination by following sustainable tourism practices.

In addition, a selection of tours can be booked on the site starting from one day up to the new one week Insider's Galapagos tour for those seeking an active adventure vacation with a wider and deeper exploration of the islands. And for travellers that prefer the more traditional manner of exploring the islands - cruising on a small 16 passenger yacht - an exclusive range of special packages that combine a Galapagos cruise with a short themed adventure on the Ecuadorian mainland are offered. Themes include Flavours of Ecuador, Andean Cultures, Natural Treasures, and Colonial Treasures. The packages include flights from Quito to the islands as well as boutique hotel accommodation for the mainland portion.

The Galapagos islands recently became the first destination in Ecuador to be added to the whl.travel network. Owners of the site, Yacu Amu Experiences, were the first tour operator in Ecuador to be Rainforest Alliance verified.
